Flatbox is a start-up brand that sells lunchboxes that are machine washable and act as a 2-in-1 lunchbox and placemat. They came to Elite Digital to have their website redesigned and updated, with a focus on making their ecommerce store easier to use, and emphasizing their product showcases. We also suggested that a product explainer video would be a helpful tool to use on the site as well as within other marketing initiatives in order to educate consumers about the benefits of the product. I was the Creative/Art Director on the project.
After taking a look at the existing website and the branding the client had provided, it was determined that they really needed something more modern, fun, and clean. I established a new colour palette to be used for the website and marketing moving forward that was inspired by their product line, in order to appeal to mothers and children, as well as a simple, easy to read font with a geometric style to accent the fun colours and modern tone. I then worked with the Sr. Designer to flush out all of the inner site pages and work through the organization of the products and flow for the shop. We decided to focus on dividing the shop into four sections to emphasize the difference between the product offerings and educate users about the benefits of each. We created the cart as an element that would open up on the right side of any page the user is on so that they could easily access it without interrupting their experience. Site visits rose 32% within 2 months after the site launch with a time on site average of 02:33.
