Canadian Tapped is a Kingston-based music promotions organization. The one-man organization focuses on promoting Canadian artists using photography, blogging, news articles, and social media. The client approached me with the original logo, which consisted of multiple images found on Google. They were looking for a new vectorized logo that still carried the original concept, but could be applied to a variety of mediums.

Rationale

The design solution includes a graphic of a smashed record, which represents Canadian Tapped, and is drawn from the original logo. I substituted the T for the Maple Leaf, and used the colour red to represent the Canadian origin of the organization instead. Another subtlety about this logo is that the record also creates a C on it’s side.
